School Council

The School Council is a group of elected children who represent their class at regular meetings. These meetings provide a platform for them to discuss various issues raised by their peers. The children value the School Council because it allows them to be involved in decisions about their school, share suggestions, voice their opinions, and engage in discussions on topics important to themselves and their classmates.

Who are the School Council Representatives?

School Council Representatives are elected by their class to attend meetings and share information and discussion points back with their peers. Other children can approach their representative to raise any concerns that should be discussed at School Council meetings.

The School Council also elects two members to serve as Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson (with both having previously served a year in office). These two key roles are responsible for actioning decisions from meetings, mentoring other members in the skills of running meetings, facilitating discussions and meeting with the headteacher.

School Council Successes

The School Council takes pride in responding to the needs of the school community. They have successfully campaigned for several initiatives including the introduction of a school cardigan to the uniform, the expansion of extracurricular clubs, and many other improvements.

Meetings are held every fortnight during the school day.
