RSHE at TAB Junior & TAB Infant

This page is to inform you about the position of Relationships and Sex Education (RSHE) and Health Education for primary schools and how this will impact our children from reception age at Thomas A Becket Infant School, all the way through their school journey until they finish year 6 at Thomas A Becket Junior School.

Guidance issued by the DfE in September 2020 makes the teaching of Relationships Education at primary school compulsory. At TAB, we believe that effective RSHE learning should be taught within a broader PSHE education programme. RSHE enhances and is enhanced by learning about topics including anti-bullying, keeping safe on and offline, keeping physically and mentally healthy, learning about drugs, alcohol and tobacco, and the development of skills and attributes such as communication skills, managing peer pressure, risk management, resilience and decision making.
